Job summary

Deloitte - Recruitment is hiring an Underwriting Administrator to support the underwriting team in Leeds or Sheffield with hybrid working arrangements. The role starts ASAP and runs for an initial 3–6 month period, offering a competitive daily rate inside IR35.

You will manage documentation, assess lending cases, coordinate with brokers and clients, and ensure compliance across underwriting processes. The position emphasizes accuracy, strong communication, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Experience in financial services or insurance environment.

• Familiarity with insurance terminology and lending processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Documentation management for underwriting files and records.
• Assess customers' financial circumstances for lending facilities and provide credit decisions.
• Coordinate with related business areas to improve the customer service journey.
• Ensure compliance and minimize fraud, losses, and bad debt.
• Review data and policy procedures, using a decision tree to accept/decline low-risk cases.
• Data entry into underwriting systems and databases.
• Coordinate communication between underwriters, brokers, clients and departments.
• Assist in policy preparation and issuance.
• Support compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Schedule and manage workflow to support underwriting efficiency.
