Job summary

NextGen Inclusion Ltd is seeking a Training and Practice Development Officer to deliver high-quality mandatory, statutory and specialist training to staff and external organisations. This blended role combines training delivery with frontline care work, spending about 16 hours weekly on training and 20 hours on care calls, shifts or residential support.

You will ensure training is grounded in real-life practice and aligned with policies and regulations to improve staff knowledge and patient

Qualifications

• Delivers mandatory, statutory and specialist training to internal and external staff.
• Prepares lesson plans, presentations, workbooks, assessments and practical exercises.
• Delivers staff induction and refresher training.
• Assesses staff knowledge and practical competence where authorised.
• Maintains accurate attendance, assessment, certification and expiry records.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mandatory, statutory and specialist training to internal and external staff.
• Prepare lesson plans, presentations, workbooks, assessments and practical exercises.
• Deliver staff induction and refresher training.
• Assess staff knowledge and practical competence where authorised.
• Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, certification and expiry records.
• Monitor mandatory training compliance and identify overdue or expiring training.
• Support staff through coaching, mentoring and practical guidance.
• Work approximately 16 hours per week within operational services.
• Complete care calls, care shifts and other appropriate frontline duties.
• Work in accordance with care plans, risk assessments and organisational policies.
• Maintain accurate care records and participate in handovers.
• Report safeguarding, medication, health and safety or practice concerns without delay.
• Observe frontline practice and identify areas where further training or coaching is required.
• Use learning from incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns, audits and practice observations to improve training.
• Support NextGen's external training service and maintain professional relationships with client organisations.
• Keep training materials current and aligned with legislation, regulation, organisational policy and best practice.
• Maintain personal competence and continuing professional development.
