Job summary

Marsh Commercial in Witham is seeking a Trainee Client Manager to support a varied portfolio of clients and learn day-to-day servicing tasks, including renewals and mid-term adjustments. You will build insurance knowledge, forge client relationships and gain exposure to marine insurance in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The role offers hands-on client support, data maintenance, and administrative duties, with a four-day office week after probation under a hybrid working arrangement.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs at Grades 9–4, including English and Mathematics
• Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise a high-volume workload
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence when communicating with brokers and carriers
• Basic understanding of underwriting and policy administration processes
• Proactive, reliable and collaborative approach

Responsibilities

• Support accurate input and maintenance of client data
• Help prepare scheme and open market renewal packs including pre-renewal checks and updates
• Check policy documentation against client records for accuracy
• Process transactions for secured scheme renewals and mid-term adjustments
• Work with colleagues to handle enquiries and renewals efficiently
• Answer calls and direct to the appropriate person or team
• Take ownership of FNoL reports and send to Claims Unit
• Record cheques, payments and card transactions and liaise with Finance
• Assist with accounting queries and reconciliations
• Update notice boards and maintain a tidy working environment
• Provide general administrative support including word processing and minute taking
