Job summary

VanRath is seeking a Tourism Development Officer in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, offering a hybrid 37-hour week with 2 days remote and 3 days in-office. This temporary role supports local tourism growth and is ideal for candidates with relevant qualifications and strong project-management skills.

The role focuses on delivering the council’s tourism strategy, managing contracts, and developing marketing campaigns to attract visitors, with opportunities to engage with stakeholders and partners.

Qualifications

• Relevant third-level qualification in Tourism, Business, Marketing, Events Management, or a related discipline, plus at least two years’ relevant experience
• Four or more years’ experience in tourism development, project management, events, marketing, or economic development
• Proven track record in managing projects, marketing campaigns, and stakeholder relationships
• Experience in financial monitoring, data analysis, and report preparation

Responsibilities

• Support the Tourism Development Manager in delivering the Council’s tourism strategy through project and event management
• Manage contracts and external suppliers to ensure seamless delivery of initiatives
• Develop engaging marketing campaigns to promote the area, working alongside digital marketing colleagues
• Coordinate high-profile events, festivals, and exhibitions to attract visitors and showcase local attractions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with tourism partners, businesses, and community stakeholders
• Prepare and monitor budgets, analyse performance data, and produce insightful reports to evaluate success
