Job summary

Contechs Consulting Limited is seeking a proactive Tooling Project Engineer to join its in-house tooling team in Sheffield. The role leads tooling projects end-to-end, delivering safe, efficient tooling solutions aligned with quality, cost and timing targets.

You will act as a technical authority for tooling activities across programmes, driving innovations and continuous improvement while collaborating with manufacturing and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in tooling, composites, manufacturing engineering, automotive, motorsport, aerospace or related industry.
• Experience delivering tooling projects from concept through implementation.
• Experience with composite tooling would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage tooling projects from concept through delivery, ensuring cost, quality and timing targets are met.
• Develop and maintain project plans, budgets and schedules; conduct risk management.
• Assess tooling requirements and create strategies with stakeholders and manufacturing teams.
• Coordinate activities across engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement and external suppliers.
• Act as a technical authority for tooling-related activities and provide guidance to stakeholders.
• Identify and implement innovative tooling technologies and manufacturing improvements.
• Support development and continuous improvement of tooling standards and specifications.
• Handle multiple tooling projects across programmes and manufacturing activities.
