Job summary

PA Consulting is seeking an exceptional Telecom & Patent Engineer to join the Networks capability in the UK. You will evaluate patents, prepare landscape analyses, and support monetisation strategies while collaborating with senior consultants across various sectors.

The role offers hybrid working with 2 days in the office per week and possible client-site days; security clearance may be required for UK roles.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with telecom technologies, including 3GPP Technical Specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to present data-driven insights.
• Familiarity with Python for data analysis.
• Experience with patent analysis and essentiality checks.
• Customer-focused with professional communication.
• Interest in how technology is commercialised and the innovation process.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patents and their applicability to telecom standards.
• Assist in scoping and preparing patent transparency reports.
• Conduct patent landscape analyses and inform on risks and opportunities.
• Review IP portfolios to identify monetisation opportunities.
• Capture and record IP assets and devise valuation/protection strategies.
• Provide technical litigation support with external lawyers.
