Job summary

TC Group in Rochester is seeking a Tax Senior to join our established tax team. This mixed tax role involves advisory work for a varied portfolio of owner‑managed businesses and supports the Directors in compliance and advisory matters.

Qualifications

• ATT or CTA qualification.
• 5 years' tax and/or accounting experience in accountancy practice.
• Good tax knowledge.
• Experience with MS Office, especially Excel/Word/Outlook; CCH software advantageous.
• Strong organisation and problem-solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Attention to detail; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Motivated team player.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied portfolio including planning and advisory projects.
• Review and support to the compliance team responsible for personal tax returns for a range of clients.
• Review and support relating to corporation tax returns prepared by the accounts department.
• Preparation/Review of capital gains tax computations for inclusion within self-assessment returns; 60-Day CGT Declarations to HMRC.
• Preparing/Reviewing ERS and EMI returns.
• Ad hoc work relating to capital tax reporting, inheritance tax and Estate work.
• Liaising directly with HMRC in relation to enquiries and investigations.
• Supporting and mentoring the more junior members of the team.
