Job summary

Wates Construction, part of the Wates Group, is seeking a Data & Sustainability Coordinator to enhance reporting across projects in the UK. You will coordinate data collection, quality checks and dashboards, engaging with our supply chain to ensure accurate ESG information is captured and reported.

The role focuses on data accuracy, stakeholder collaboration and continuous improvement, with a pathway to grow within the Environmental Sustainability team and contribute to the five-year roadmap.

Qualifications

• Experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental reporting, or a data-focused coordination role.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience managing and interpreting large datasets.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with reporting systems.
• The ability to produce clear, accurate reports and presentations.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the collection, validation and reporting of sustainability and environmental data across the business.
• Support outward-facing engagement with our supply chain, helping to chase, capture and quality-check sustainability information in a professional and consistent way.
• Support the production of internal and external sustainability reports, dashboards and performance updates.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency and compliance with reporting requirements and frameworks.
• Work with project, operational and supply chain teams to gather evidence and monitor sustainability performance.
• Maintain reporting systems, databases and documentation.
• Support responses to customer, stakeholder and regulatory sustainability information requests.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and data quality.
• Contribute to sustainability initiatives, programmes and business improvement projects.
• Support the Wates Construction Sustainability Team to deliver internal training and engagement with Wates teams and members of our supply chain.
