Job summary

Artisan Recruitment Group Ltd is seeking an ESG/HSQE Coordinator to support the development and delivery of the organisation's ESG strategy across construction and infrastructure projects.

You will coordinate ESG activities with project teams, procurement, HR, commercial and clients to embed ESG into planning and delivery and help meet contractual obligations and sustainability objectives.

Qualifications

  • A relevant qualification or demonstrable experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental management, social value, corporate responsibility, construction or related discipline.
  • Experience within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, rail or other project-based environment.
  • Understanding of environmental and social impacts of construction and infrastructure activities.
  • Experience collecting, analysing and reporting performance data.
  • Ability to produce clear and engaging reports, case studies and presentations.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with ability to manage multiple actions, priorities and reporting deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with site-based and office-based teams.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites, depots and offices across the UK.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Group HSQE and Sustainability Director with ESG/HSQE strategies, policies, objectives and action plans.
  • Assist with collection, validation and reporting of environmental and carbon data.
  • Coordinate development and delivery of social value initiatives and programmes.
  • Support governance and responsible-business policies implementation and review.
  • Work with project managers to address ESG requirements during mobilisation.
  • Support bid and business development teams with ESG, sustainability, carbon and social value submissions.
  • Establish and maintain systems for collecting ESG information from projects and partners.
  • Promote ESG awareness and good practice across the organisation.
  • Represent the organisation at client, industry and community events as needed.
  • Collate HSQE data to support reduction of incidents and continuous improvement.

Job description

Artisan Recruitment are working with a leading infrastructure and engineering organisation to recruit an experienced ESG / HSQE Coordinator to support the continued development and delivery of its Environmental, Social and Governance strategy across a diverse portfolio of construction and infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in ESG, sustainability, environmental management, social value or HSQE who is looking to develop their career within a dynamic, project-led environment.

You will play a key role in coordinating ESG activity across projects, helping to ensure that client requirements, contractual commitments, legal obligations and corporate sustainability objectives are effectively delivered, measured and evidenced.

Working closely with project teams, procurement, commercial, HR, business development, supply chain partners and clients, you will help embed ESG considerations into project planning and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Group HSQE and Sustainability Director with the implementation and ongoing development of ESG/HSQE strategies, policies, objectives and annual action plans.
  • Assist with the collection, validation and reporting of environmental and carbon data.
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of social value initiatives and programmes.
  • Support the implementation and review of governance and responsible-business policies.
  • Work with project managers to identify and address relevant ESG requirements during project mobilisation.
  • Support bid and business development teams with ESG, sustainability, carbon and social value submissions.

  • Collate HSQE data to support the reduction of accidents and incidents and contribute to continuous improvement.
About You

You will ideally have:

  • A relevant qualification or demonstrable experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental management, social value, corporate responsibility, construction or a related discipline.
  • Experience within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, rail or another project-based environment.
  • An understanding of the environmental and social impacts associated with construction and infrastructure activities.
  • Experience collecting, analysing and reporting performance data.
  • The ability to produce clear and engaging reports, case studies and presentations.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple actions, priorities and reporting deadlines.
  • Strong Microsoft Office, written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with both site-based and office-based teams.
  • A willingness to travel to project sites, depots and offices across the UK.
  • A full UK driving licence.
