Job summary

Alexander Mann Solutions - Contingency is seeking a Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer - SC for a 12-month contract based in Bristol. The role is hybrid with three days in the office and some UK supplier travel.

You will work with suppliers to assess manufacturing processes, drive improvements using APQP/PPAP, and ensure compliance with client and industry standards. Active SC Clearance and experience in aerospace/defence environments are required; umbrella/PAYE engagement model only.

Qualifications

• Active SC Clearance is required.
• Proven manufacturing engineering experience in complex environments.
• Experience with aerospace/defence or similarly regulated sectors.
• Strong knowledge of PFMEA and quality tooling.
• Familiarity with APQP frameworks and their application.
• Awareness of FAIR and First Article Inspection processes.
• Excellent problem solving and stakeholder management across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, driving continuous improvement.
• Lead supplier development to meet manufacturing, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Assess supplier operations to identify inefficiencies and implement sustainable improvements.
• Support New Product Introduction programmes and transfer into supplier environments.
• Coordinate supplier approval, qualification and validation activities for production release.
• Drive new manufacturing processes within the supplier base aligned with client standards.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, and cost; act as interface with stakeholders.
• Lead root cause investigations and cross-functional improvement efforts.
