Job summary

Cotswold Fayre, an award-winning speciality food and drink wholesaler, is seeking an Inventory Planner to join our Operations team. You will manage stock levels across thousands of SKUs and hundreds of suppliers to maximise availability and margins, while limiting wastage.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will analyse data, collaborate with the buying team, and drive proactive procurement decisions in a fast-paced, values-led business committed to sustainability and positive impact.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in Inventory Planner / Supply Planning.
• Experience with Netstock or similar software.
• Experience with multiple suppliers including importing.
• Strong data analysis and ability to translate data into actions.
• Experience in food or drink industry.
• Knowledge of S&OP processes.
• Excellent customer service experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Orderwise.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse inventory levels across ~5,000 SKUs and ~450 suppliers.
• Place orders to maximise availability while avoiding excess stock.
• Identify and mitigate risks from shortages or excess stock.
• Maximise margins through tactical purchases.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with buying team on ranging decisions.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
• Engage with 3PL partners.
• Review inbound deliveries and resolve issues promptly.
• Analyze fulfilment levels and communicate status to the business.
• Highlight slow-moving and short-dated stock to sales team.
• Resolve issues with suppliers, credits, etc.
