Job summary

Octopus Energy is seeking a Strategic Finance Associate to join OEGen, focusing on monthly management accounts, strategic finance initiatives, and stakeholder liaison across global entities. The role involves helping manage cash flow, budgeting, and capital allocation decisions in a fast-paced energy transition environment.

The position requires an average of 3 days in the office per week, with hybrid work arrangements in the Greater London area.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA preferred).
• Experience in FP&A and financial modelling.
• Familiarity with month-end reporting and accounting processes.
• Strong analytical skills and data interpretation.
• Experience with board/investor reporting.
• Knowledge of capital structure and fundraising is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review and analysis of OEGen cash flow actuals and forecasts, including capital calls and reporting.
• Engage with department heads and senior stakeholders on financial matters.
• Coordinate the annual budget process across OEGen assets.
• Support strategic finance leadership in evaluating growth, liquidity and capital allocation.
• Monitor performance vs plan and develop corrective action plans.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting and quarterly Board packs.
• Review financial deliverables from External Asset Managers.
• Liaise with external auditors and support year-end audit processes.
• Ensure consistent accounting policies across international subsidiaries.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial analysis tools and processes.
