Job summary

AECOM is seeking a senior, externally facing leader to establish and grow strategic relationships with UK Combined Authorities, Mayoral Authorities and devolved regional bodies. This market-shaping role focuses on translating regional ambitions into programmes, partnerships and opportunities.

The successful candidate will be a recognised industry figure with deep experience in combined authorities, with strong governance and investment understanding.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience engaging with UK Combined Authorities and devolved governments.
• Ability to translate complex regional priorities into delivery programmes.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of funding, governance and investment decision processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead engagement across UK Combined Authorities and Mayoral Authorities.
• Build trusted relationships with Mayors, Chief Executives and programme leaders.
• Provide insight into authority priorities, funding mechanisms and investment plans.
• Identify opportunities to support transport, housing, energy and infrastructure goals.
• Facilitate collaboration while recognising different ambitions and funding competition.
• Lead strategic authority growth and revenue generation across England.
