Job summary

bet365 is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to elevate system reliability, observability, and performance. You will treat reliability as a software problem, implement instrumentation with OpenTelemetry, and drive AI-assisted automation to reduce toil and improve health across critical services.

Role emphasizes collaboration across functions, live incident resolution, and building dashboards with Grafana, Splunk, and New Relic.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of modern software development techniques and lifecycles.
Excellent knowledge of SRE principles, including SLIs/SLOs for reliability and customer satisfaction.
Familiarity with observability tools like Splunk, New Relic, Grafana and PagerDuty.
Proficiency in shell scripting for automation and system management tasks.
Experience with IaC and automation/orchestration tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
Background in large-scale 24/7 enterprise environments where uptime is critical.
AI-native engineering using LLM platforms to improve productivity and telemetry.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain tools that improve management and resilience of systems.
Automate manual activities to reduce toil and improve efficiency.
Write and contribute code that enhances reliability and observability of services.
Build sophisticated dashboards using telemetry data with Grafana, Splunk, and New Relic.
Participate in live incident resolution and post-mortem analysis to drive remediation.
Mentor colleagues on new technologies and practices.
Collaborate with IT Operations to support critical tooling for the business.
