Job summary

The Environment Agency is seeking a Mapping and Analytics Officer to deliver practical spatial analysis, mapping and data products across a varied portfolio. You will prepare, review and present spatial data outputs to support national flood risk mapping and evidence-based decisions.

You will work with technical specialists and internal customers, manage several pieces of work concurrently, and develop your skills within a national team.

Qualifications

  • Experience handling spatial data and producing clear outputs following established processes.
  • Ability to work with data, maps and evidence to support national decisions.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyse and quality-check spatial datasets.
  • Produce maps, GIS layers, statistics, spreadsheets and evidence products.
  • Support flood risk analysis, property counts and data requests.
  • Deliver work that supports national flood mapping and environmental priorities.
  • Work with customers and colleagues to agree requirements and outputs.
  • Manage workload and record progress and decisions.
  • Contribute to improvements in mapping and team processes.
