Job summary

Secure Screening Services in the UK is seeking a Software Automation & Integration Engineer to connect systems, automate operational tasks and improve reliability across our platform. You'll work across PHP/Laravel, REST APIs, queues, and cloud infrastructure to build secure, observable solutions.

This hybrid role is based in Chichester with remote options, and requires strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in backend software development, integrations or automation.
• Proficiency with PHP/Laravel, MySQL and SQL.
• Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, webhooks and OAuth.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain integrations with external platforms.
• Automate repetitive operational processes.
• Monitor APIs, integrations, queues and scheduled jobs.
• Investigate technical failures and recurring issues.
• Build internal tools to diagnose and resolve problems.
• Create reusable patterns for future integrations.
• Contribute to the Laravel application for integration/automation work.
