Job summary

Chadwick Nott seeks a Managing Associate or Legal Director for its Energy team in Exeter. The role focuses on complex renewable energy and infrastructure projects for a range of clients, with hybrid working options and strong progression paths.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years PQE in commercial/energy, excellent drafting and client-management skills, and a track record of business development and collaboration on major energy matters.

Qualifications

• 7+ years PQE in Commercial, Energy or Infrastructure
• Experience advising on energy-sector commercial contracts and renewable energy projects
• Experience working for a range of clients from high-growth to large corporates/investors
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and client management skills
• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities
• Proven ability to develop long-term client relationships
• Experience contributing to marketing initiatives and business development

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on a broad range of commercial energy matters
• Draft and negotiate PPAs, regulatory and licensing matters, heat and gas contracts
• Oversee heat supply, feedstock, CfD, grid connection and related agreements
• Manage due diligence for funding, refinancing and secondary transactions
• Support developers, investors and energy businesses on sustainable energy projects
• Contribute to business development, networking and marketing activities
