Job summary

EMBL-EBI, part of the UniProt consortium, seeks a Scientific Database Curator with a strong structural biology background. You will help integrate protein structures with UniProt annotations and work with PDBe and other partners to support high-quality data in releases.

You will collaborate across curation and development teams, contribute to training activities, and engage in EMBL-EBI-wide forums on AI-assisted biocuration. The role is based on the Wellcome Genome Campus in Cambridgeshire.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in structural biology or related life science field.
• Ability to interpret complex scientific literature.
• Experience with structured data and curation workflows.
• Excellent communication within international teams.
• Interest in AI-assisted biocuration and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain pipelines between UniProt and structural biology resources.
• Coordinate data exchange to integrate protein structure information into UniProt releases.
• Curate UniProt entries with new protein structural data.
• Collaborate with UniProt curation and development teams and partners.
• Contribute to UniProt training and communication activities.
• Participate in EMBL-EBI-wide training and activities.
