Job summary

EMBL-EBI invites applications for a role supporting operational and data management development of the BioImage Archive and EMPIAR. You will assist depositors, guide data and metadata standards, and work with developers to shape the project.

You should hold a degree in Biology, Bioinformatics, CS or a related field; a MSc or PhD is preferred. Experience with JSON, schema languages, and data transformation will be valuable in this collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Biology, Bioinformatics, CS or related field.
• Higher degree such as MSc preferred; PhD or equivalent experience valued.
• Experience with data deposition and metadata standards.
• Familiarity with schema languages such as LinkML.

Responsibilities

• Support data deposition and import into BioImage Archive and EMPIAR; develop data pipelines for submissions.
• Work with bioimaging community on standards, processes and tools for metadata.
• Curate and standardise data and metadata across domains for diverse imaging communities.
• Guide development priorities with software teams and test new features.
• Create documentation and training materials for users.
