Job summary

Kier Group in Falmer is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Southern Water framework. This role focuses on controlling costs, value maximisation, and ensuring safety and quality while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Based in Falmer with hybrid working, you will measure works, prepare payments, monitor costs, support procurement strategy, and liaise with subcontractors and clients to ensure financial health and contractual compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience with NEC contracts and Target Costs within the construction, water or civils industry.
• Excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with Oracle and Causeway accounting systems.
• Strong communication skills with confidence in client-facing situations.
• Ability to interpret financial data, prepare cash flow forecasts, and demonstrate excellent numerical and literacy abilities.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Measuring works and preparing monthly and final payment applications, including cost forecasting and reporting.
• Monitoring and accurately reporting on project costs and value, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
• Supporting operational teams with procurement strategy, value maximisation techniques, and change control procedures.
• Assessing and processing sub-contract payments whilst managing commercial risks and contractual notifications.
• Regularly liaising with subcontractors and clients on financial updates.
