Job summary

Bloomsbury Publishing Plc is seeking an Operations and Inventory Assistant to support all divisions and ensure the smooth delivery of books worldwide. You will report to the Head of Consumer Inventory UK and act as a key contact across the business.

The role focuses on monitoring orders, coordinating deliveries, and maintaining accurate data in publishing systems, with a hybrid working pattern of 2 days per week.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Excel and operational reporting.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Support cross-department queries and inbox management.
• Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, balancing daily tasks and deadlines.
• Interest or experience in publishing, operations, supply chain, or inventory administration.
• Familiarity with publishing management systems (e.g., SAP or Biblio) an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor incoming orders and daily operational activity.
• Coordinate delivery requirements and support order fulfilment.
• Act as a key contact for operational queries from internal and external partners.
• Investigate and resolve routine operational issues.
• Maintain and update core publishing and operational systems for data accuracy.
• Assist with inventory tracking, stock alignment and reporting.
• Manage setup and administration of print instructions for upcoming titles.
• Assist with print fix routines and stock allocations across divisions.
