Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking a motivated Project Surveyor on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will deliver complex projects, undertake surveys, assess defects, and prepare tender specifications while managing contractors and ensuring safety and quality.

The role covers Brighton, West Sussex and South Hampshire with hybrid working where appropriate. You will work with residents and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in building surveying, construction, or asset management within a customer-focused environment.
• Proven experience managing planned maintenance, major works, service contracts, and contractor performance.
• Strong knowledge of building construction, property maintenance, health and safety, and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

• Managing Complex Projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery to agreed quality, budget, and timescale targets.
• Undertaking property surveys, defect analysis, and preparing specifications and schedules of work for tender.
• Managing contractor performance, monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with contract management framework and health and safety requirements.
• Building relationships with residents, leaseholders, and stakeholder groups, keeping them informed throughout project delivery.
• Identifying efficient ways of delivering services and sharing learning from projects and feedback.
