Job summary

WSP is seeking a Project Architect to support concept, planning and technical design across multiple sectors. You will lead design tasks, develop drawings and models, and coordinate with clients and consultants to deliver high-quality construction documentation.

The role requires qualification as an Architect, familiarity with UK Building Regulations, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. A strong eye for detail and sustainable design are valued as part of our multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the construction / architectural industry.
• Must be a qualified Architect.
• Understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant technical design guidance and standards.
• Working capability and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency in creating visualisations would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Under direction of the Project Lead or a more senior project leader, you will develop, modify, and review models and drawings ensuring the incorporation of design intent.
• Duties may include the development and implementation of project design concepts, project modelling, developing sketches, conducting research and data collection, preparing presentations and reports, and general production of coordinated design and construction documents including specifications.
• Works on multiple projects, in innovative ways that may explore methods of achieving design solutions, completing tasks within established deadlines and budgets, and effectively utilizing resources to address project requirements.
• Interacts with clients and internal and external consultants, participating on project development, and presents ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Prepares, manages, and modifies architectural documents, plans, elevations, sections, and details, as directed by others in the project team, following standards.
• Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established design standards and with attention to detail, efficiency and quality.
• May assist in the development of project scope, plans, and services during the contract process.
• Prepares 2D and 3D presentations, models, design drawings and renderings.
• Performs product research and may assist Project Designers and Project Architects with materials selection and system research.
• Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects, always considering the impact our projects have on the wider world.
