Systems Engineering & Assessment Ltd is seeking a Product Safety Engineer to lead safety activities from concept to disposal. You will identify hazards, assess risks, and define reduction measures using recognised safety techniques, producing safety documentation and advising across project teams.

Qualifications

• Professionally registered or working toward EngTech/IEng/CEng.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, defence or technology sector.
• Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment and safety assurance.
• Experience producing safety documentation and compliance records.
• Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Structured, analytical approach and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support safety activities across the engineering lifecycle.
• Identify hazards, assess risks and define risk reduction measures.
• Apply safety techniques such as FMEA, HAZOP, ALARP and safety cases.
• Develop and maintain hazard logs, safety plans and safety reports.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality and test teams to ensure safety requirements.
• Review designs and test evidence to keep safety risks acceptable.
• Support verification, validation, certification and compliance activities.
• Advise project teams, suppliers and customers on product safety.
• Monitor legislation and standards and translate changes into actions.
