Job summary

Debar is seeking a Product Design Engineer to drive sustaining and improvement of bifold door hardware and systems from our Bradford facility. You will own technical design issues, lead product changes and ensure robust engineering solutions across released products.

The role requires strong 3D CAD skills, experience with design for manufacture, and the ability to work across functions. Some homeworking is available while core site work supports our UK and international markets.

Qualifications

• Degree, HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional experience in mechanical/product design.
• Strong CAD capability and manufacturing-ready drawings.
• Understanding of Design for Manufacture and tolerances.
• Ability to progress work independently with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead engineering changes for existing products.
• Investigate failures and develop corrective improvements.
• Redesign components to improve performance, durability or cost.
• Assess impact on mating parts and system performance.
• Create and update 3D CAD models, drawings and BOMs.
• Maintain technical documentation and data in relevant software.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams on technical issues.
