Job summary

NUVIA UK's Technical Services & Consulting division seeks a Process Engineer to join a hybrid, multidisciplinary team in Warrington. The role involves delivering process designs within nuclear safety constraints, coordinating with a range of engineering and non-engineering functions, and contributing to safety cases and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will gather data on effluent handling, assess flushing systems for new containers, and develop sampling and safety documentation

Qualifications

• Good communication with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Competent report writing and clear findings.
• Experience delivering process designs on medium/large projects.
• Able to work under time and cost constraints.
• Designing/assessing fluidic systems to handle hazardous liquids.
• Knowledge of safety assessment techniques (HAZOP).
• Experience with nuclear safety case development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver items against the project schedule, reporting to the client process lead.
• Regularly report process team progress to Project Management and Engineering Manager.
• Collaborate with a multi-discipline design team across engineering and non-engineering functions.
• Gather information on effluent routes and ensure safe discharge limits.
• Assess flushing system for a new container type, including pressure/flow analyses.
• Develop sampling systems for pond conditions and containment.
• Develop radiological, environmental and non-nuclear safety cases; present at assurance reviews.
