Ministry of Justice's Probation Service is seeking a Probation Services Officer to work with people on probation before and after sentence. The role covers assessment, sentence implementation, offender management and producing reports, and includes case management support across a full range of individuals while following service procedures.

You don't need a degree; personal qualities are valued—empathy, patience, resilience, plus clear writing and report-writing skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with people who have social or personal difficulties is preferred.
• Ability to produce clear and accurate reports to tight deadlines is essential.
• Strong writing skills and empathy are important for this role.

Responsibilities

• Assess, implement sentences and manage offenders as part of probation.
