Job summary

The Ministry of Justice is seeking empathetic and resilient probation services officers to join the Probation Service. You will manage a caseload of offenders before and after sentence, assess risks and provide information to courts.

You will work with multiple agencies to support offenders and deliver practical guidance on housing and employment. We value strong writing skills and the ability to produce clear, accurate reports under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• No degree required; emphasis on personal qualities.
• Experience with people facing social or personal difficulties is beneficial.
• Excellent writing skills and ability to produce clear reports under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of offenders before and after sentence.
• Assess and manage risks, provide information to courts.
