Job summary

Kreston Reeves in Chichester is seeking a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager to own a diverse client portfolio, delivering personal tax compliance and advisory projects. You will guide the team, develop junior colleagues, and strengthen client relationships within a supportive firm environment.

You'll provide technical guidance, manage budgets, and participate in larger advisory assignments while advancing leadership skills.

Qualifications

• CTA and/or ATT qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Strong private client tax compliance knowledge with advisory experience.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
• Proactive, organised and detail-oriented, with good commercial awareness.
• Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members.
• Experience in or an interest in the agricultural sector is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of private clients as their primary point of contact.
• Deliver personal tax compliance and contribute to advisory work.
• Ensure all client work is completed in line with agreed budgets and internal standards such as The KR Way and Life of a Tax Return.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through training, research, monitoring changes in legislation and HMRC policy.
• Liaise with internal teams on client matters and build your internal profile among partners and directors across service lines.
• Attend client meetings and play a key role in relationship and workflow management.
• Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and manage client billing effectively.
• General advisory opportunities within your portfolio by building your relationships with clients.
• Support one-off compliance and advisory assignments as needed.
• Supervise junior members of the team involved in the delivery of private client tax work.
