Job summary

Sweco UK is seeking a proactive Principal Process Engineer to lead process design across AMP8 projects within the Anglian Water @one Alliance. You will provide technical leadership, review documentation, and ensure compliance with standards.

The role offers flexible and hybrid working, a strong focus on sustainability, mentoring, and opportunities to drive innovation and deliver high-impact water infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required with chartered status preferred.
• Extensive water sector process design and capital delivery experience.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant regulations, standards and environmental requirements.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading teams.
• Strong leadership, communication and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead process design workflow to deliver projects on time and to quality.
• Review mass balances, hydraulic calculations, P&IDs and design docs for accuracy.
• Support design planning and stakeholder engagement for process design acceptance.
• Provide technical input for supplier contracts and deliveries.
• Champion health, safety and welfare; ensure compliance with DSEAR.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practice.
• Embrace innovation and digital tech to reduce carbon in design.
• Participate in wider Anglian Water initiatives and standards forums.
