Food and Drink Federation in London is seeking a Communications Assistant to join the Corporate Affairs & Communications team. You will help raise the profile of the UK’s largest manufacturing industry by supporting press office and wider communications activities.

You’ll assist with media inquiries, content production, social media, and events while building relationships with journalists and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualificações

• Some communications experience (paid work, volunteering, or similar).
• Passion for current affairs and interest in news & politics.
• Strong writing skills for different audiences and complex information.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence with colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Curious mindset and ability to understand complex issues quickly.
• Interest in the food and drink manufacturing industry.
• Ability to work at pace, adapt to changing priorities and stay calm under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach.

Responsabilidades

• Support the FDF Press Office to ensure positions on key issues are represented in the media.
• Monitor the news agenda, including social media, and understand issues affecting FDF and its members.
• Maintain press office processes, including databases, licences, contact lists and media monitoring systems.
• Track communications activity and produce reports showing impact of the team's work.
• Support the members' PR Discussion Group, including alerts, minutes and inquiries.
• Produce content including press releases, reactive statements, feature articles, social media, website and email content.
• Assist with event organisation, invitations, materials and room setup.
• Build relationships with journalists and respond to media inquiries.
• Take part in the out-of-hours press office rota.
