You will work within a multidisciplinary team across concept, feasibility, and detailed design stages, translating customer needs into safe, compliant engineering solutions and collaborating with sales and project engineers throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in power system studies, electrical design and system modelling.
• Proficiency with ETAP, PowerFactory and AMTECH; knowledge of power generation/distribution.
• Knowledge of HV/LV systems, protection and control philosophy and standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to present technical content to diverse audiences.
• UK passport or valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed power system studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination and dynamics.
• Develop clear system design documentation: single-line diagrams, schematics, layouts and cable schedules.
• Ensure designs comply with national/international standards, grid codes and ABB procedures.
• Prepare and review technical specifications for HV equipment (transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays).
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and support client engagement throughout projects.
• Support sales with early engagement and understanding customer needs.
• Represent ABB at industry events and conferences.
