Job summary
ABB UK is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary engineering team. You will deliver electrical power system studies and design activities across concept, feasibility, and detailed design stages, translating client requirements into high-quality engineering solutions.
The role involves hybrid working and collaboration with sales, project engineers, and technical advisors throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Experience in power system studies, electrical design, and modelling.
- Strong understanding of HV/LV systems, protection and control principles.
- Proven ability to translate customer needs into engineered solutions and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed power system studies including load flow, fault level, protection coordination, harmonics, voltage regulation and dynamic stability.
- Develop system designs and documentation: single-line diagrams, schematics, layouts, cable schedules, substations/E-house layouts.
- Ensure designs comply with standards, grid codes, and ABB procedures.
- Prepare technical specifications for HV equipment and assist in client engagement throughout projects.
