Job summary

Leeds Building Society is seeking a Platform Engineer to support on‑prem and cloud infrastructure, data centres, applications, hardware and LHPS domain. You will bridge on‑prem and cloud environments, delivering secure, resilient solutions and driving automation to accelerate change.

Your role involves implementing automation, operating incident support, and collaborating with developers and third‑party suppliers to follow established processes within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering technical change and IT production support across cloud (Azure) or on-premises infrastructure environments
• Good understanding of infrastructure technologies, DevOps principles, and Windows and Linux operating environments
• Demonstrable expertise across Active Directory/Entra, Azure Functions or other serverless/PaaS services, VMware/Hyper‑V, and DNS/DHCP/TCP/IP networking
• Experience with configuration and infrastructure automation tools such as PowerShell, Terraform or Puppet, with understanding of zero‑trust security
• Collaborative, self‑starting with strong analytical and pragmatic problem‑solving skills; financial or regulated environment preferred
• Hybrid working experience and flexibility to move workloads between cloud and on‑premises

Responsibilities

• Provide innovative technical expertise, deliver complex changes and operational support for hosted and cloud environments
• Operate secure, resilient solutions and increase pace of change through automation
• Ensure workloads can move between cloud and on‑premises environments by cost and suitability
• Build and improve processes that automate build, test, deployment and maintenance of the technology stack
• Provide Level 2 incident support; investigate production issues and root causes; monitor performance
• Identify opportunities to streamline releases and improve customer experience
• Manage cloud‑based risks, create support knowledge, contribute to peer reviews and testing, and collaborate with developers and suppliers
