Job summary

Seccl is seeking a Platform engineer to shape and evolve the AWS-based platform underpinning our investment products. You’ll view the cloud as a product and empower squads to self-serve and operate their services.

Joining the Cloud Resilience team, you’ll work with TypeScript/Node.js, Terraform and serverless patterns, collaborating with engineers across the business. The role includes occasional travel to Bath, London and Edinburgh.

Qualifications

• Experience as a platform engineer in regulated environments.
• Fluent in JavaScript/TypeScript and collaborating with development teams.
• Knowledge of MongoDB and Postgres; able to diagnose, design and scale databases.
• Strong observability and alerting practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure with Terraform.
• Design cloud-native solutions using MongoDB, Lambda, API Gateway and other AWS services with a focus on serverless.
• Contribute to incident response and reliability initiatives across engineering squads.
• Enhance observability and platform insight through alerting and data visibility using Datadog.
• Continuously improve CI/CD with GitHub Actions and streamline delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate with Node.js/TypeScript engineers to ensure secure, performant, resilient applications.
• Mentor engineers and champion DevOps culture across teams.
