Job summary

A Platform & Cyber Security Specialist role at Ashdown Group involves protecting a cloud-first environment within a hybrid work model. You will own security controls, manage Microsoft Entra ID, Defender tools, and core networking while ensuring secure, resilient digital services.

Responsibilities include monitoring alerts, investigating incidents, configuring SSL VPNs, and leading audits and policy work across Office 365 and endpoints.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of cyber security principles, identity and access management and MS security best practices.
• Experienced with Hybrid Exchange environments, including Exchange Online and on-premises services.
• Skilled in managing Microsoft Entra ID environments, including Conditional Access, MFA, SSPR, PIM, and identity lifecycle management.
• Experience of Microsoft 365 Defender and Sentinel to monitor, investigate, and respond to security threats and incidents.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory management, including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, domains, trusts, replication, and certificate services.
• Familiar with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management including device security and compliance policies.
• Knowledge of VPN technologies, SSL certificates, and core networking concepts
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting and automation.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of platforms, cyber security controls and emerging technologies that underpin the organisation's digital environment.
• Configure and manage security across Office 365 and endpoints, including Defender RBAC and Defender for Cloud Apps.
• Investigate alerts and incidents, monitor and remediate risks, generate audits and reports.
• Safeguard the organisation from spam and phishing through Microsoft 365 email remediation, eDiscovery, and retention policy configuration.
• Maintain SSL certificates and the wider VPN estate; manage DNS, DHCP and name resolution to configure SSL VPN profiles.
