Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking a Business Delivery Officer to support the Principal Business Planning and Performance Lead with performance analysis and insights. You will collate and report on corporate metrics and contract performance, providing commentary to senior stakeholders and helping shape business planning to meet evolving demands across the directorate.

Occasional depot visits will strengthen supplier relationships and understanding of frontline operations.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong partnership skills to establish and manage links within and outside the organisation.
• Experience interpreting complex information to produce high-quality reports.
• Experience developing robust strategies and reports meeting legislative and organisational requirements.
• Ability to anticipate issues, adapt to change, and plan pragmatic solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collate, analyse, and report on corporate, directorate, and service metrics.
• Analyse contract performance across various technical areas.
• Provide insightful commentary alongside KPIs and MI for senior decision-making.
• Support current and future business planning to address evolving demands.
• Embed policies and assist strategic growth within budget.
• Occasional visits to depots to build supplier relationships.
