Job summary

HR GO Group in Ashford is seeking a Payroll Systems/Team Lead to run day-to-day payroll operations for employees, contractors and temps, while driving automation and standardisation to improve accuracy, visibility and scalability.

You will own system workflows, controls and reporting, mentor a small payroll team, liaise with HR and Finance, and deliver month-end activities with compliance to tax and pension requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven payroll experience with contractor and temporary staff.
• Experience implementing or operating payroll automation (RPA, integrations, scripting).
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems and data flows with Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience supervising or leading a small team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise end-to-end payroll processing for employees, contractors and temps.
• Mentor a small payroll team and manage workloads.
• Reconcile payroll totals and maintain audit trails.
• Coordinate onboarding, leavers, timesheets, expenses and contractor payments.
• Lead automation and process improvements using workflow tools or RPA.
• Prepare management reports and respond to payroll queries.
• Ensure compliance with tax and pension requirements; support year end.
