Job summary

Pertemps Redditch Commercial is recruiting a proactive Part-Time Credit Controller for our Bromsgrove finance team. The role involves managing the sales ledger, monitoring outstanding payments and keeping customer accounts up to date, with hybrid working and 1 day in the office per week.

You will work alongside the Senior Bookkeeper and gain exposure to wider finance administration and month-end processes, with strong Excel and IT skills and a clear telephone manner.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control or accounts receivable.
• Understanding of sales ledger and credit control processes.
• Confident telephone manner and good communication.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and IT.
• Able to manage own workload and prioritise outstanding accounts.
• Proactive and persistent in collecting payments.
• Capable of working independently and in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the sales ledger and monitor customer accounts.
• Carry out regular credit control and follow up invoices.
• Contact customers by phone and email about overdue payments.
• Allocate and reconcile customer payments accurately.
• Investigate and resolve payment queries and discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate customer account records.
• Produce aged debtor reports and monitor balances.
• Assist with cash flow monitoring and reporting.
• Liaise with internal teams to resolve invoicing issues.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and general finance admin.
• Support the Senior Bookkeeper with day-to-day activities.
• Participate in month-end processes and reconciliations.
• Provide general admin support to the finance team.
• Carry out other ad hoc finance duties as required.
