Job summary

IntaPeople Limited is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA / Unix Administrator to join its technical team in the UK. The role focuses on keeping Oracle databases available, secure, and well‑performing while maintaining the underlying Unix/Linux infrastructure.

You will handle backups, recovery, patching and performance tuning, with hands-on duties across RMAN, Data Guard, RAC, ASM and related tools. The position is hybrid, with 2–3 days per week in the office.

Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise Oracle databases (11g/19c+).
• Strong Unix/Linux administration skills across RHEL/OLLinux variants.
• RMAN, Data Guard, RAC and ASM knowledge a must.
• Shell scripting and automation experience required.
• Familiarity with Oracle tools such as TOAD, SQL Developer or DBeaver.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily checks on databases, backups, filesystems and tablespaces.
• Investigate failed services and process issues to restore performance.
• Manage RMAN backups and recoveries; perform expdp/impdp refreshes.
• Monitor SQL performance, tune SGA/PGA, and address long-running queries.
• Install, patch and upgrade Oracle software and tools.
• Manage users, roles, and database security policies.
• Collaborate with developers on schema design and troubleshooting.
• Maintain and support Unix/Linux environments alongside Oracle estate.
• Automate routine tasks using Bash scripting and related tools.
