Home-Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire is seeking a Family Engagement Coordinator to support families with young children across North Lanarkshire, building attachments through tailored activities and connecting families to local services.

The role is funded initially until 31 March 2027 and requires a creative, team-oriented individual with safeguarding knowledge, IT skills (Office and CRM), a driving licence, and willingness to work evenings and some weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and delivering engaging group activities for families with young children.
• Knowledge of safeguarding principles and legislation.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to use IT systems (Microsoft Office and CRM) for monitoring and admin.
• Car driver with access to a car and willingness to travel.

Home-Start is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with children under the age of5. Volunteers offer regular support, friendship and practical help to families experiencing difficulties.

Would you like to join a vibrant, exciting team working alongside families and volunteers in North Lanarkshire?

Families Here and Now Service (FHANS) is an exciting project created in 2024 as part of the Scottish Government’sWhole Family Wellbeing Fund. This project is funded by North Lanarkshire Council providing holistic support forthe whole family in local communities/hub areas.

You will play a key role in developing this service, working alongside families and community partners. The serviceis a collaboration between four charities: Barnardo’s, Home-Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire, Actionfor Children and Impact Arts, and you will work closely with colleagues from these organisations.

This outreach support role covers the North Lanarkshire area, based in or around community hubs/schools/nurseries andfamily homes. The aim of the service is to enable families (pregnant and/or with children up to age 18 years/26years for care experienced children) to access supports at the earliest possible time, ensuring a ‘whole family’and ‘no wrong door’ approach.

The service operates 7 days a week between the hours of 8 am – 8 pm, 365 days per year and is staffed on a rotabasis.

The postholder will be required to work at least one evening per week and at least one weekend in four.

A valid UK driving licence and access to a car are essential for the role. The role is initially funded until 31March 2028.

Home-Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire is a charity making a big impact on families with young children(under 5) in the local area. We are now excited to welcome a new, confident, passionate, and enthusiastic FamilyEngagement Coordinator to our team who will support the expansion, promotion and delivery of group work in NorthLanarkshire.

Day-to-day the Family Engagement Coordinator will be welcoming families into a warm and inclusive space, helping tobuild strong relationships and attachments through tailored play activities. They will nurture children’s growthand development, offer empathetic support, provide practical help, and guide families to local services whenneeded. Working across various venues in North Lanarkshire, they will create a safe, supportive environmentwhere families feel valued and connected.

The role is initially funded until 31st March 2027. The project duration is initially for the remainder of 2026-2027but with an expectation of multi-year funding thereafter (subject to ratification by the ScottishGovernment).
