Job summary

Lloyds Register in Southampton is seeking an NDE Team Leader to drive specialist NDE projects, ensuring quality, cost and contract compliance while supporting the Marine and Offshore Materials Manager. You will deliver technical advice, develop capabilities and coordinate delivery to internal and external clients.

The role requires a degree in engineering, Level III ISO 9712 across multiple NDE methods, and proven experience in marine fabrication and in-service inspection, with strong report

Qualifications

• A degree, or equivalent, in engineering, plus practical NDE qualifications and experience.
• Level III ISO 9712 certification in multiple NDE methods (min. 3), including ultrasonic.
• Strong industrial NDE background with marine experience preferred.
• Membership of a professional institution toward Chartered/ Incorporated Engineer status.
• Proficiency in English and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects within the NDE discipline, ensuring quality system and contractual compliance.
• Provide specialist NDE advice and technical support to clients and internal teams.
• Mentor and coach staff to enable knowledge transfer and best practices.
• Discuss deliverables with clients at senior levels and present alternative solutions.
• Conduct on-site verification, produce reports, and assess external NDE service providers.
