Job summary

BAE Systems in Barrow-in-Furness is seeking a Senior Quality Inspector (NDE) for a 12-month contract. The role covers NDE and weld inspection, ensuring conformance to inspection and test plans and quality documentation.

45 hours per week? 37 hours typical with 3 on / 4 off days; the rate varies by PAYE or Umbrella within Inside IR35, reflecting shift-based pay increases.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in NDE and/or weld inspection.
• Understanding of ISO9001 / EN9100 standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and procedures.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Inspector (NDE) to join the Quality team in Barrow.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out quality inspections in line with inspection and test plans
• Conduct NDE and weld inspection activities
• Identify and verify non-conformances
• Complete inspection reports and quality documentation
• Support audits, customer walk-rounds and quality reviews
• Liaise with stakeholders across the business

About You

• Previous Quality Inspection experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Experience in NDE and/or weld inspection
• Understanding of ISO9001 / EN9100 standards
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and procedures
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
