Job summary

Baily Garner LLP is seeking a Quality Control Inspector MEP to lead on-site quality control inspections for a range of residential and mixed-use developments in Nottinghamshire. You will ensure compliance with BS standards, coordinate reporting, and maintain strong client and team communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in MEP construction or quality control inspection.
• Relevant technical qualification in building services, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, commissioning and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in defect tracking, reporting tools and MS Office.
• Actively pursuing or enrolled in professional accreditation (e.g., CIBSE, IET).

Responsibilities

• Independently manage and deliver MEP quality control inspections across projects.
• Produce high-quality inspection reports with actions and progress.
• Maintain MEP defect trackers and follow up with parties.
• Review submittals, commissioning plans and O&M documentation.
• Witness commissioning activities and ensure tests meet requirements.
• Represent the firm in site progress meetings and client communications.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and consultants to resolve MEP issues.
• Monitor project progress and flag risks impacting quality or delivery.
• Support senior MEP QCIs on complex projects.
• Participate in snagging, pre-handover and end-of-defects inspections.
