Job summary

Kier Group, via the Kier MMEP (KME) team, is seeking an MEP Design Manager to support projects in the Northern region. Location is Leeds or Manchester with hybrid working. You will lead the design process from tender to delivery, ensuring safety, quality and on-time execution.

The role requires strong MEP design leadership, CSCS, and experience delivering complex schemes. You will coordinate internal and external design teams, manage BIM resources and provide clear design status updates

Qualifications

• Significant experience as an MEP design manager, especially with main or Tier 1 contractors.
• CSCS card holder with demonstrable delivery of medium to large schemes.
• Strong technical understanding of MEPH services and interface packages.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage high-risk/CDP packages.
• Proficient in MS Office, forecasting resources and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage design and drawings from tender through delivery within budgets, scope and programme.
• Lead design safety reviews and ensure CDM compliance.
• Coordinate external design teams and BIM resources with clear scopes and contractual alignment.
• Provide design status reporting and maintain change control records.
• Support tender activities and facilitate design handover meetings from bid/preconstruction to construction.
