Job summary

Eurostar International Limited is seeking a Systems Engineer (Mechanical) in the Rolling Stock department. The role focuses on maintaining and improving mechanical systems across the cl373/cl374 fleets, including investigations and lifecycle optimisation.

Based at Temple Mills depot in Leyton with hybrid working; attend site four days a week. The position is permanent with close date 5pm on 4 November 2026.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Chartered Engineer status desirable.
• 5+ years in rolling stock engineering, maintenance or fleet support.
• Knowledge of modern rolling stock systems and train maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for assigned mechanical systems across the fleet.
• Lead investigations into faults, defects, incidents, and non-conformances with root-cause analysis.
• Develop, review and approve engineering changes and maintenance improvements.
• Support fleet reliability and performance through design, maintenance and lifecycle activities.
• Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, testing, commissioning and system acceptance.
