James Fisher Defence (JFD) seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and support the JFD product range from Westhill with hybrid working. You will provide through-life engineering support, perform design calculations, and generate documentation for assembly, testing, and certification.

Responsibilities include liaising with sales, procurement and production, sourcing components, and ensuring on-time delivery within budget. Engineering degree and field experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar mechanical engineering role with design and field support.
• Knowledge of DFA/DFM and ASME/ISO drawing standards.
• Experience with ANSYS or similar FEA tools is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Assess technical queries and provide engineering design input to new products and support existing product range.
• Liaise with internal JFD departments to ensure the best technical solution is provided.
• Source suitable components and materials and create part numbers and BOMs.
• Create engineering documentation including specs, proposals, assembly instructions and test procedures.
• Check drawings for compliance with standards and regulations and maintain quality.
• Ensure engineering solutions are delivered on time and on budget.
• Conduct site visits to other JFD offices and client assets as required.
• Act as technical checker of drawings and documentation.
