Job summary

James Fisher Defence (JFD) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide design solutions and through-life support from Westhill with hybrid working. The role involves creating engineering documentation, upgrading equipment in the field, and ensuring compliance with marine and defence standards.

You'll assess technical queries, liaise with internal departments, source components, and generate bills of materials while ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design and through-life support for complex products.
• Ability to generate engineering documentation and specifications.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and industry guidelines (IMCA).

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design solutions and lifecycle support for JFD products.
• Create specifications, assembly instructions, test procedures and reports.
• Liaise with sales, procurement and production to deliver best technical solutions.
• Site visits to client assets and internal offices as required.
