RGB in Bristol is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join its close-knit building services team. This permanent role offers hybrid working and exposure to directors across a broad project portfolio.

You will contribute to mechanical building services design, perform calculations, coordinate with other disciplines, and contribute to delivering schemes from surveys to construction. With a focus on developing technical expertise within a supportive consultancy, you will work

Qualifikationen

• Experience in mechanical building services design ideally within a UK consultancy.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems and building services design principles.
• Experience producing calculations, technical documentation and CAD drawings.
• Familiarity with UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and relevant industry standards.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with colleagues, clients and contractors.

Aufgaben

• Design mechanical building services systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, hot and cold water, drainage and controls.
• Produce design calculations, drawings, specifications, schematics and technical reports.
• Support projects from initial surveys and feasibility through to detailed design, tender and construction.
• Manage workload across several projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Attend client meetings and liaise with contractors, architects and other design professionals.
• Survey existing buildings and assist with refurbishment, plant replacement and energy efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with the wider engineering team and other project disciplines.
• Assist with reviewing contractor submissions, responding to technical queries and carrying out site inspections.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, standards and project requirements.
