Job summary

Ignitec is seeking a Mid Level Mechanical Design Engineer in Bristol with strong SolidWorks experience to drive electro-mechanical designs from concept through production. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborate with electronics, firmware, and manufacturing partners, and present concepts to clients and stakeholders.

The role requires 4+ years of commercial design experience, familiarity with ISO 9001, and ability to produce BS 8888 drawings with GD&T.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial engineering experience.
• 4+ years of commercial experience using SolidWorks.
• Clear drawings to BS 8888 with GD&T.
• Experience with electro-mechanical products and full lifecycle.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 processes and design release.
• Experience with Ex i/Ex d enclosures and compliance.
• Experience with injection molding, sheet metal, 3D printing, machining.

Responsibilities

• Interpret client requirements into practical mechanical designs.
• Produce designs for concept, MVP and production stages.
• Create high-quality drawings to BS 8888 and GD&T.
• Prototype, test, verify designs and troubleshoot.
• Manage BoMs and liaise with suppliers.
• Present concepts to clients and stakeholders.
